Micah Sunday A Success!

Micah Sunday A Success!
This year Micah Sunday, October 19, was a major mobilization of Micah Challenge communities around the world. In the US we had nearly 40 Churches and campuses participate by praying for the MDGs, signing Micah's Challenge to the future president, Standing up Against Poverty, and centering on God's desire for a just world. If you did not participate on October 19 your church can participate in Micah Sunday anytime! Visit our Micah Sunday page for resources to help your congregation or school celebrate Micah Sunday.

What is even more exciting is how many people participated in Micah Sunday in Micah Challenge campaigns around the world. Below are just a few countries and their numbers:
  • Botswana: 12,255
  • DR Congo: 22,200
  • Kenya: 170,520 people stood up in over 20 churches plus a mobilisation event a school with an estimate of 40,000 students standing up
  • Malawi: 26,579
  • Zambia: 28,750 (and counting not completed)

Thank you to all those around the world who participated in making Micah Sunday a success. Let us pray that our events were not just for their own sake, but that something for His Kingdom was accomplished that day and in the days to come. Pray for Zambia and the US as we quickly approach election time in our respective nations--Micah Challenge in both countries is actively challenging the candidates to stand for justice, the Millennium Development goals, and integrity.
